Call for Papers

As Internet of Things (IoT) devices penetrate into our intimate surroundings and transform our daily lifestyle, networks are facing new challenges such as delivering and managing enormous amount and heterogeneity of data and devices. Software defined Networking (SDN) is considered to be a highly effective technology that will enable efficient transfer of data between sensors and clouds, real-time management of devices and rapid deployment of new services. This workshop will bring together researchers and practitioners to present their new ideas and latest achievements in the area of SDN for IoT.

We invite authors from both industry and academia to submit original research and review papers that cover the design, implementation, and optimization with the specific focus on SDN for IoT. Potential topics include (but not limited to):

  • SDN-based IoT networking for IoT services
  • SDN-based security and privacy for IoT
  • SDN-based big-data analysis
  • Management of IoT devices using SDN
  • Virtualization of IoT resource management
  • Virtualization of IoT policy management
  • Virtualization of IoT devices
  • IoT applications and services though virtualization and chaining of functions
  • Use cases of SDN-based IoT networks in e-health, smart cars, smart manufacturing and smart city

IWSI 2016 solicits submission of original work not previously published or under review at another conference or journal.

All papers must be submitted electronically, in PDF format, and uploaded on EDAS. The direct link for paper submission is http://edas.info/N22199. There are two options for the submissions, either a full paper or a short paper. We decided to allow the submission of short papers in order to accommodate the most recent research outcomes. The submissions should be formatted with single-spaced, double-column pages using at least 10 pt (or higher) size fonts on A4 or letter pages in IEEE style format. The maximum number of pages is 6 for full papers and 3 for short papers. Detailed formatting and submission instructions will be available on the conference web site (http://www.icufn.org).

Submitted papers will be reviewed by the workshop Program Committee and judged on originality, technical correctness, relevance, and quality of presentation. All accepted papers will appear in the IEEE Xplore Digital library and will be indexed by Scopus and EI Compendex only if at least one of the authors registers at the full registration rate and attends to present the paper. Also, extended versions of selected papers will be published in the following international journals (SCIE-indexed) as a special section for the ICUFN 2016.

  • Wireless Personal Communications (SCIE)
  • International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks (SCIE)
  • Mobile Information System (SCIE)
  • Sensors (SCIE)
  • Journal of Internet Technology (SCIE)
